The Challenge

Hasbro needed a way to centralize operations and create better strategic alignment among well known and emerging preschool focused brands, while at the same time, growing brand affinity across the board. The challenge was to find a way to leverage content and characters from multiple brands in an engaging, age appropriate manner that Hasbro could easily update and maintain.

The Solution

Hasbro partnered with Popular Front to create Playskool Kids, an online channel for kids ages 3-5, that focuses on learning and engagement content rather than typical product promotion. The experience emphasizes play behaviors and narrative structures, all of which are informed by proven developmental preschool research. Existing and new brand content is presented via a friendly “town,” and character hosts tour children through the channel by providing clear vocal suggestions, directions and encouragement – all useful tools to users of this age group. Slot content technology and a channel content management system allow for easy updating and programming on Hasbro’s side. Young children (and their parents) can independently interact with the brands they want, when they want, and in a safe, friendly online environment.
