Schools of Thought: Conversational UX
I’ve been starting to look for more stylistic approaches to UX, and then attempting to place them in different schools of thought. My plan is to post examples as trends start to emerge…
So Moof.com has a great example of what I’m calling Conversational UX. I really like the styling of the form fields to look like Mad Libs-esque blanks to be filled in. I think the knock on this approach is that it probably takes a little longer than adopt than a typical form, but I think the Moof approach could be improved upon usability-wise to lessen its learning curve.
All in all, I really think this has some potential.

Very cool! I can imagine some interesting UI/design options for communicating required fields and field errors, too.
Thanks for sharing.
What I like about it is its ability to provide context. Rather than a list of seemingly random requests, the fields are placed within a broader narrative. Makes sense, and this ability to provide the “why” could help to alleviate users fear of providing personal information.
