Scheming Up Some Colors
For those of you out there who love the endless fun of mixing complimentary, triad, or tetrad colors, there is yet another site out there to help you make these fancy color combos with the click of a button, only this time it has a twist. Most color generating sites I have found are more geared towards print design, like colourlovers or Kuler, which are all good and fine, but now someone has made a tool that is straight up for web designers. Hurraahh… Although print designers could still use this one, all the colors it generates are in RGB and hex values… Sweet. One more really nice touch to this site is right below the color boxes that are generated there are two buttons, one that says “Light page example” and one that says “Dark page example”. What this does is takes your color selections and mocks up what it could look like on a web site. Although I haven’t really had one turn out with the wow factor I am looking for it is still and interesting idea and a nice little tool to play around with. Enjoy.

I like how the site allows you to simulate color vision deficiencies. It’s great way to ensure that your designs are more accessible to those with some form of color blindness, but it’s also just interesting to see what it would be like to perceive colors differently.
That’s pretty fantastic, picking a color scheme has always been a struggle for me in my little developer world. I particularly like the page samples, it makes it much easier to picture how the colors will work with each other.
