Panic Status Board

Panic (a mac application development company) has a post discussing their creation of an internal status board to give everyone in the company some insight as to how everything is running. It’s mounted to their wall and displayed through a 46″ LCD display. Here are some of the stats and messages it displays:

  • E-Mail Queue — number of messages / number of days.
  • Project Status — sorry for the heavy censorship — you know how it is!
  • Important Countdowns
  • Revenue — comparing yesterday to the day before, not so insightful (yet).
  • Live Tri-Met Bus Arrivals — when it’s time to go home!
  • The Panic Calendar
  • Employee Twitter Messages
  • Any @Panic Twitter Messages — i.e., be nice! They go on our screen!

And most importantly, it looks really awesome!

I also really love some of the nice details they have on their blog. Personal favorites are the subtle rotation of the blog post itself (courtesy of -webkit-rotation so no transition for nonwebkit browsers ) and the shipping form-esque contact form.
