One Small Tweet, One Giant Step for Creativity

CurrentTV, a network known for keeping things short and sweet recently became the first to send out an RFP to agencies, via Twitter. On April 23, VP of Brand at CurrentTV, Jordan Kretchmer posted this Tweet. Within hours there were dozens of responses.

Naturally most of the responses were through Twitter, and because of the sites guidelines, we’re all 140 words or less. Other agencies made videos, while others took there efforts offline and tried to capture Kretchmer’s attention by other means.

So I wonder, is this innovation or laziness?

I’d argue that it’s the former. With one Tweet, Kretchmer has reinforced that CurrentTV is forward thinking, lit a fuse under the butts of creatives everywhere, shaken up the RFP process, and put dozens of small brilliant agencies on the map. You try doing that in 140 words or less.
