Fifty People One Question
I came across this touching project this morning through Crush + Lovely.
Fifty People, One Question is a simple project with surprising results. We go to a place, ask fifty people the same question and film their responses.
I’ll post the videos here for you to watch, but be sure to check out the web site and leave your own response!

Pure, authentic and agenda free. Beautiful stuff indeed. I tried (and failed) to figure out how (and why) it’s financed. Is it promotional, grant based or attached to some type of client work? Anybody know?
Haha, we are trying to figure that out ourselves.
It was financed by Nathan and I (@heynathan) and (@benjaminreece)
We have three more cities sitting in post because we are trying to figure out how to move it forward further
Ideas? Thanks for the blog.
I’m sure you’ve considered this, but why not explore a paid sponsorship? I would think General Electric, Microsoft or even Target would love to be associated with a social media campaign of this caliber. It’s a proven success. The linear assets are superb and people care enough to engage and post their own answers. The trick would be to find a question that’s honest and intriguing yet subtly related to the sponsors interests. Perhaps this caged bird won’t sing, but it would be shame to see it end.
Hi Jay,
Thanks for the suggestion. We’re definitely exploring paid sponsorships but want to be sure anything in this realm is aligned with the spirit of our content and audience. The fact that the project is purely ‘agenda-free’ at this point is probably one significant factor for its success so far. So if the right brand/partner comes along, we’d definitely work to make this happen.
Thanks for your support.
Engagement.
Why is it so hard to turn off these videos?
I have asked myself the question several times now. If I could just settle on one answer….
Great, great stuff. Maybe it’s too obvious – this could be powerful marketing for mattress or furniture companies. Thank you for this – so human and touching.
