Fiesta Movement
Ford recently launched a marketing campaign for the Fiesta which is coming to the United States. The campaign is leveraging social media to generate buzz about the new car. Participants (or ‘Agents’ as Ford refers to them) get to drive one of the new cars around for 6 months and are encouraged to post to social networks about their experience. Ford has told them to post positive and negative, it doesn’t matter they just want the real deal. 4,000 people applied to be agents and from that pool 100 were chosen.
This could go either really poorly for Ford or really well. Hopefully, the car is pretty awesome and people will like having it and the company’s hard work will pay off along with their transparency. Right now the site doesn’t have much activity, but it looks like some live feeds and other features will be up in a few days. The Fiesta’s Twitter site has been quite active, though. Hopefully social media will treat Ford better than Domino’s in recent days.
