Babyfoot, Anyone?
What do you do when you need a mental break? Some people meditate. Some listen to music. Others surf the web. Here at Popular Front? We foos. That’s right, we play foosball. Or as they call it in Bulgaria “Futbol na masa” (Table Football). We have the fortunate pleasure of having two foosball tables at our disposal. At any point in the day, cheers of victory or screams of defeat can be heard emanating out of the PF break room.
What I’ve found to be almost more entertaining than the actual game play are the conversations leading up to the ball drop. “So are you, like, crazy good or just kinda good?” “On a scale of 1 to 10 – 1 being ‘What’s foosball?’ and 10 being ‘I’m the President of the International Table Soccer Federation‘ – what are you?” Ok, so maybe those exact conversations haven’t occurred, but there is a definite hierarchy of foosball-prowess within the agency. It’s best to have this hierarchy figured out, so you can ensure you’re shouting for joy and not at your partner.
Whether winding down from a long work week or just looking to sneak in a little action over the lunch hour, foosball can provide the release you’re looking for. Well, at least the folks at Popular Front think so.
