Pink Hobo: King Mini’s Canyon Land
11.28.09
King Mini’s Canyon Land:
The world spins, continents grind, boulders turn to pebbles–turn to
sand, turn to dust. One, Two, Three, Five. Five. Really, Five. The
voodoo around his neck leaves a mark on his breast bone. Is it bone?
Is it cartilage? He can’t seem to remember. He sits, waits, and
listens for the hum of the saw, the smell of burnt wood. This is
Canyon Land.
King Mini is the founder and sole employee of King Mini International,
a publishing house located in North Minneapolis. Mr. King Mini has
published several pamphlets, most memorable among them Robot
Investigator and Things We Carry. His stories have been featured in
numerous anthologies including Meathaus and Project Telstar. His
illustrations can also be seen in such books and magazines as Beasts 2
and Giant Robot. Recent exhibitions include Hot Ink at the Minnesota
Museum of American Art.
